Screencasts for Free Learning

Meet Me at SCALE 10x

This weekend will mark my second year at the Southern California Linux Expo (SCALE). Needless to say I’m excited! Last year was a blast, and this year is sure to be even better. SCALE is a great opportunity to learn new things, meet like-minded people, and walk away energized about Linux.

Last year, at the three day conference, I think I installed at least three different Linux distributions on my netbook (Ubuntu, Arch, and Fedora), got to meet Jonathan Thomas the developer behind the OpenShot video editor, and heard a very inspired talk on using open source and Linux in schools. That weekend I also spent the day learning chef, from a training provided by the people at Opscode.

Looking at the schedule this year, its going to hard to decide what talks to attend, but I hope to play some board games on Saturday. So if you are in Southern California this weekend, and would like to meet up to discuss Linux, Open Source, or screencasting, you know where I will be!
